4月9日，美国篮网队球员本·西蒙斯捐赠篮球场新闻发布会成功举行。西蒙斯先生向贵州省贵安新区马场镇捐赠篮球场。

On April 9, 2023, the press conference for basketball court donation by Brooklyn Nets player Ben Simmons was successfully held. Mr. Simmons has donated a basketball court to Machang Town of Gui'an New Area in Guizhou Province.

发布会开始，西蒙斯说到：“我很高兴在这里宣布捐赠篮球场。非常感谢黄屏总领事和贵州省政府。”

At the beginning of the conference, Simmons said, “I am very excited and happy to announce the court donation. Deep thanks to Ambassador Huang Ping and the Guizhou government.”

紧接着，他表示：“我的愿望是把篮球的快乐带给更多的人，所以我想通过捐赠一个球场，去帮助那些热爱篮球运动地方，能因为新的篮球设施而受益。在黄大使和贵州省政府的帮助下，这个愿望实现了。”

Simmons added, “My wish is to bring the joy of basketball to more people, so I wanted to donate a court to help places where people love the game and can benefit from new facilities. Ambassador Huang and Guizhou government helped to connect and made it possible.”

此外，西蒙斯还讲述了一段他与中国的故事。“我第一次到中国打篮球是在16岁的时候，后来又以NBA球员的身份再次去到中国。我的访问非常开心，因为当地人和球迷都很热情，而且热爱篮球。”

In the meantime, Simmons also told a story between China and him. “I first visited China to play basketball when I was 16 and then again as an NBA player. I always enjoy visiting as the people and the fans are always so welcoming, and love basketball.”

近年来，在中国乡村举办的篮球赛被网友们称为“村BA”，中国的“村BA”吸引了全世界的瞩目。体育无国界，西蒙斯想捐赠一块篮球场支持中国体育事业的发展。

In recent years, the basketball games that are held in Chinese villages are named “VBA” by the netizens, and China’s VBA attracts much attention around the world. Sports without borders, Simmons wants to donate a basketball court to support the sports industry development in China.

“希望这个球场能让当地群众受益。我听说贵州组织了很棒的民间篮球比赛，且刚刚举行了今年的决赛。我祝愿贵州人民一切顺利，希望将来能很快与他们见面。”

“I hope this court will benefit the local people. I hear people in Guizhou have amazing local basketball tournaments, and they just had this year’s final. I wish the people of Guizhou all the best, and hopefully will get to see them soon in the future.”
