Wang Yangming,a philosopher, strategist and master of the School of Mind during the Ming dynasty, praised Guizhou as a place where the most marvelous mountains and riversare to be found. Also, Xu Xiake, a famous geographer and writer, once said that despite the numerous mountains in the world, only the peaks here rise as dense as forests.

Of course, you could skip the climb by taking the cable car to the summit, but hiking offers a close-up look at Fanjingshan’s rich biodiversity, which includes endemic and rare species, such as the gray snub-nosed monkey.

Dr.Jim Thorsell, an assessment expert of IUCN from the United States, was awed during his on-site research in Fanjing Mountain in Guizhou Province. “Fanjing Mountain is like an isolated ecological island, where many species coexist and develop, and is therefore protected from human activities.”

梵净山是中国十大著名避暑胜地之一。云海，是景区的一个奇迹，是由于陡峭的山脉中变化的风向而形成的。特别是“瀑布云”，令人叹为观止，云似乎垂直下降到深谷。
Fanjing Mountain is one of the ten famous summer resorts in China. The sea of clouds, a marvel in the scenic area, comes into being as a result of the variable wind directions in the sheer mountains. The “waterfall cloud”, in particular, is breathtaking, where the clouds seem to drop vertically down to the deep valley.
